T&M Curious Critters Rattery

Welcome to T&M Curious Critters! We are pet fancy rat breeders and one of Indiana's newest and best ratteries! Located in Lafayette, Indiana near Purdue

     We currently have ratties available!! We were planning a trip out west to work with some other breeders, but our plans fell through, so now we have several rats that need homes.      We breed for health and temperament, first and foremost! We also take color and markings into consideration when choosing our pairings. We want everyone to enjoy the pet rat as much as we do, and we strive to adopt out only well temperamented, well socialized ratties so that adopters can truly enjoy their pet rats!  We are striving to improve the pet rat as a whole and promote them as wonderful family pets!

About Us

     Our names are Tori and Megan. We are roommates going to school at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. We are both majoring in Animal Science: Behavior and Well Being. We also both work at a veterinary clinic as veterinary assistants, as well as working in grooming, the kennel, and doing some behavior work.  We have both had pet rats growing up and fell in love with them from our very first little critter! We have each gone through our fair share of pet store rats. We were tired of getting rats that were not well socialized, as well as the heartbreak of losing our rats to respiratory disease and cancer.  We knew ratties could be wonderful companions and we knew there had to be a better source for these critters!  So we began researching and found that there were actually reputable rat breeders out there that bred for health and temperament in a variety of colors and markings.

After a  short time of being parents to pet rats that gave kisses and loved to cuddle we decided that we wanted to be involved in the whole process!  We talked to our breeder friend and she set us up with some great kids to start our rattery! 

We are very behavior focused, and we work to not only meet the physiological needs of our ratties, but also all their behavioral needs as well!
